A Roanoke Rapids man has been charged in a Monday morning burglary, Chief Jeff Hinton said in a news release.
Hinton said police responded to an early morning first-degree burglary call on Oakridge Drive. The victim was upstairs asleep and awakened by a man rambling through her bedroom. He fled on foot after the victim screamed.
A search of area with a dog from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office falied to locate a suspect. Further investigation, however, by detectives Jeff Baggett and Corey Dixon led to the arrest of Rashon Woodley. He went to jail under a $15,000 bond.
