A Garysburg man was jailed on $250,000 bond Saturday morning following a stabbing in Hollister.

Detective Doug Pilgreen of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said deputies Brian Knight and Obert Wiltsie charged James Jermaine Shearin, 31, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The sheriff’s office received the call shortly after 1:30 a.m. at Tomahawk Apartments. Pilgreen said Knight and Wiltsie found the victim lying on the ground with a stab wound to the side near the abdomen.

Pilgreen told rrspin.com tonight the victim is still being treated. It is not clear what led to the stabbing.

Shearin has a September 15 court date.
