An Enfield man was arrested Thursday for possession of crack cocaine and other charges following a stop for a traffic violation.

Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Deputy W.C. Murphy stopped the 1995 Nissan driven by Robert Earl Cooper, 49, for a registration violation. The stop was made on Ringwood Road.

Lieutenant George Evans said he was also charged with driving while license revoked, displaying a fictitious tag and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was jailed on $1,000 bond and has a February 1 court date.
