A Hobgood man was arrested Monday for the alleged statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl in November.

Eric O’Neal Harris, 27, was apprehended by deputies R. Viverette and A. Lewis and jailed on $50,000 bond.

He has a Wednesday court date.

Detective Joe Sealey said he and Detective Roy Rooks had been investigating the case since early November after receiving the report.

Since then investigators and deputies had a hard time locating Harris, Sealey said this afternoon.
