The Halifax County Sheriff's Office continues to try to track down leads in the case of a missing Roanoke Rapids man.
Chief Deputy Wes Tripp said today Edward Lee Bare's name has been entered into the National Crime Information Center's database and his case has been assigned to an investigator.
Tripp said the sheriff's office does not discount any theory right now, including whether the 48-year-old man, who suffers from depression and may be suicidal, got a ride with someone.
"That's what we're trying to figure out," said Rose Bare, Mr. Bare's wife. "One gentleman was questioned about a ride."

Bare
Mrs. Bare said there was nothing unusual about the circumstances under which her husband left their home on Easton Street Monday morning.
After a kiss goodbye, Mrs. Bare went about her normal routine. When she discovered her husband's truck was still at the house she became alarmed and checked on his possible whereabouts, even checking with Halifax Regional Medical Center to determine whether he might have committed himself as he has done in the past. After that initial search she contacted law enforcement.
Mr. Bare had been upset over finances and an auction for a building that fell through, she said.
Asked whether there were any marital problems or disputes between them, Mrs. Bare said, "We did a couple of months ago over an employee that went on a couple of days without us talking."
The couple made up and Mrs. Bare doesn't believe that argument had anything to do with his disappearance. "It wasn't serious. It wasn't like a big blowout."
Thus far, Mrs. Bare has checked with airports, airlines, bus stations, bus lines and train stations to no avail. There is no record of him renting a vehicle.
Mr. Bare has family in Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee but thus far they have not heard from him or seen him.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday Deputy C.E. Carroll of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office responded to Bare's residence on Easton Street off Zoo Road after his wife reported him missing.
Chief Deputy Wes Tripp of the sheriff's office said in a press release that his pickup and keys to his custom body shop business at 392 Airbase Road were left at home. Any other mode of transportation was also left behind, he said, and his destination or direction of travel is unknown.
Bare is 48 years old and stands 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
He has black hair that is graying, brown eyes and a medium complexion.
He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, beige work pants and boots. He has a tattoo of a rose on his ring finger.
Anyone with information on Bare's location is encouraged to call the sheriff's office at 252-583-8051, Halifax County 911 at 252-583-1991 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
