A Roanoke Rapids woman who allegedly stole approximately $3,000 from a relative a couple of weeks before Christmas turned herself in to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office Friday.

Katherine Nicole Brooks, 28, faces charges of felonious breaking and entering, felonious larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

Detective Chris Scott said the crime occurred in the Piney Grove Church Road area.

Thus far he has been unable to establish a motive in the case.

She received a $1,500 bond and an April 2 court date.
