A 51-year-old Roanoke Rapids man has been charged in a June 21 rape that occurred at Old Town Apartments, city police said.
Patrick Neal Artis, who lives in the apartment complex, was charged following investigation by detectives J.G. Davis and Bobby Martin.
Captain O.L. Morgan said the matter involved the alleged rape of a middle-aged woman.
Artis was arrested on June 26 and given a $250,000 bond. He has a July 23 court date.
