A boyfriend and girlfriend have been charged for allegedly stealing items from the Dollar General store on Bolling Road last week.

Burris, left, and Watson
Detective Joseph Sealey of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said he received phone calls following the publishing of an initial news release in which the callers had a consensus on the identities of 26-year-old Christina Nicole Burris and 28-year-old Anthony Lavon Watson, both of Roanoke Rapids.
They were both charged with larceny. Burris was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor in an unrelated case. Details of that case were not immediately available.
Burris received a $2,500 bond and Watson a $1,000 bond. They have August 20 court dates.
