A Wilson woman was charged Monday following a traffic stop in Enfield.

Chief Tyree Davis said in a statement Officer Keith Lawrence stopped a vehicle driven by Lavetta Adams for a motor vehicle violation.

The woman initially provided the officer with a false name and date of birth. She eventually confessed she had warrants and gave the officer the proper information.

Lawrence confirmed Adams had warrants in Wayne and Wilson counties — the one in Wilson County for misdemeanor simple affray and two in Wayne for speeding and no operators license.

Lawrence took Adams before a magistrate where she was cited for speeding, driving while license revoked and providing false information to an officer.

She has a January 13 court date in Halifax County; Monday court date in Wilson County; and a November 21 court date in Wayne County.

She received a $4,000 bond for the outstanding orders.
