A man wanted in a March 18 break-in at a school in Hodgood was arrested today by Tarboro police.

Isaac Farin Bass, 20, of Tarboro, faces the following Halifax County charges lodged by Detective B.C. Griffin of the sheriff's office: Breaking and entering; larceny after breaking and entering; felony possession of stolen property; breaking and entering a coin-operated machine and two counts of injury to personal property.

The case involves Bass breaking into a vending machine and cash register at the school, Griffin said.

Investigation by Sergeant C.E. Carroll developed Bass as a suspect and further investigation led Griffin to take out the warrants.

Bass was unable to take anything from the vending machine but took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

Bass, who was still in custody in Edgecombe County as of this report, was assigned a $250,000 bond there and given a May 27 court date.
