The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is investigating a theft which occurred at Walmart on October 3 around 8 a.m.

The victim’s pocketbook was stolen and $1,300 was taken during the theft, according to a statement by Lieutenant Charles Vaught.

Investigator Obert Wiltsie said the purse was left unattended.
