A Rich Square woman has died from injuries she sustained in a head-on crash Monday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

First Sergeant Levern Bynum said ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville notified the Highway Patrol today that Miracle Wilder, 21, died Wednesday around 10:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation by Trooper K.I. Spearman indicates that Wilder was traveling east on Highway 158 in the Conway area when she crossed the centerline and struck a trash truck head-on. The driver of the trash truck sustained minor injuries, Bynum said.

Wilder was initially transported to ECU Health North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids and was later flown to the Greenville medical facility, where she succumbed.

Spearman continues to investigate the crash to determine the contributing factors.
