The Halifax County Board of Elections early voting plan includes the Halifax County Agriculture Building, 359 Ferrell Lane in Halifax as well these additional sites:
Enfield Fire Substation, 9768 Ringwood Road, Enfield
New Resource Center, 116 West Third Street, Roanoke Rapids
Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 Roanoke Street, Scotland Neck

All voters will be required to show an acceptable photo ID when presenting to vote in person or complete an ID Exception Form.
Voters must provide a current valid ID as proof of residency. The ID must show your name and current residential address. The following HAVA documents are acceptable: a government document — passport, driver’s license — utility bill, paycheck or a bank statement.

Statewide information
Voting in the 2026 election officially begins on September 4 with the initial sending of absentee ballots to voters who requested them, according to the North Carolina State Board of Elections.
That is followed by in-person early voting from October 15 to October 31.
During the early voting period, voters may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county. This is different from election day, when registered voters must vote at their assigned polling place.
During the early voting period, eligible individuals may also register to vote and vote at the same time.

The statewide general election is Tuesday, November 3.
