The North Carolina State Highway Patrol continues to seek leads in a December 2024 fatal pedestrian collision.

First Sergeant Levern Bynum said there is no new information regarding the death of 59-year-old Terrence Wayne Blount.

The highway patrol received a report around 3:15 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, that a man, later identified as Blount, was found deceased in a ditch along Highway 46 near Jasper Jones Road.

Investigating troopers say it remains unclear when the collision occurred.

An initial investigation by Trooper L.M. Merritt showed the involved vehicle was most likely traveling east on Highway 46. While it is unclear which direction Blount was walking, Merritt confirmed Blount was struck and his body came to rest in the ditch.

Bynum said vehicle debris recovered at the scene has not provided investigators with clues regarding the vehicle's make or model.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the highway patrol at 252-200-3490 or Northampton County Crime Stoppers at 252-645-9026.
