Carolina Crossroads Amphitheatre closed its 2026 season with smoke and flames Friday night with Gilbert Brantley heating up the stage to the large crowd.
It was great weather for a concert Friday night in Roanoke Rapids and what better way to close the 2026 season than with three acts on stage to finish the outdoor venue season.
With the parking lots opening at 4pm, fans started their tailgating early afternoon. When the gates opened at 6pm the ticket holders made the dash for either the Pit area or the closest lawn seating area they could secure, then it was off to the food trucks, vendors or even the beverage booth to start the evening.
Alabama raised Country artist Jay Webb opened the night off. His website states it’s not traditional country — and he doesn’t want it to be. He calls it “music for real people with real problems”.
North Carolina native Country singer/songwriter John Morgan made a home State return. Morgan, a GRAMMY-nominated and 7x #1 hitmaker who wrote has written 16 songs for Jason Aldean alone.
Georgia native, country rock singer, songwriter, and record producer known for blending Southern rock with contemporary country Gilbert Brantley rocked the crowd to close the night. Gilbert has four number-one hits, co-wrote Jason Aldean's Dirt Road Anthem, won the ACM New Male Artist award in 2013.
