As of midnight Tuesday the Halifax County Health Department is aware of 1,928 confirmed tests for the novel coronavirus performed on residents.

The following is a breakdown of those results:

323 positive cases since testing began; four deaths; and 250 recoveries.

The approximate number of current cases can be calculated by subtracting the total recoveries from the positives.

There are 30 tests pending and 1,575 negative results.

Health Director Bruce Robistow said in his afternoon update the county continues to show a downward trend in positive cases reported.

With the holiday weekend approaching, the health department will make its last report for the week on Thursday.

Related to the holiday weekend, Robistow said, “practicing the three Ws can make a huge difference in your health and the health of others. Let’s all work together to protect each other, wear a mask, wait six feet apart, and wash and disinfect hands frequently.

After Thursday, the health department will resume its reports on Monday.
