“We’re happy to meet the health needs of our community and provide funding that will go toward improving the health and wellness of our area,” said Betsy Morris, Vidant North grant program liaison.

Each hospital has a grants review committee made up of medical professionals and hospital leaders or community benefit staff, as well as representatives from the health department, local health coalition — such as Healthy Carolinians Partnership — and community members.

“Here at Vidant North, we worked with our president, Will Mahone and chairman of our foundation, Dr. Chris Lehman, to develop a strong grassroots committee of true community leaders to help implement the funding,” said Morris. “We are pleased to award these wonderful organizations with funding and we look forward to seeing the impact it will have on the health of our community.”
