Warrants have been filed for two counts of second-degree murder in a crash which resulted in the deaths of two Virginia women Saturday night.

Sergeant G.M. Moore of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said William Lawrence Mont, 48, of Blackstone, Virginia, has also been charged with DWI.

Mont was the driver of the vehicle in a crash which claimed the lives of passengers Jacqueline Yvette Johnson, 50, and Gladys Davis, 80, both of Blackstone.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Highway 158 about 4 miles west of Jackson.

Moore said the report shows Mont was traveling west on Highway 158 when he crossed the centerline and ran off the road to the right. The vehicle struck several trees before it overturned.

Mont and another passenger, whose name was not immediately available, were injured in the crash and taken to Vidant in Greenville. Their conditions were not immediately known.

Moore said alcohol use is suspected.

The relationship between the four in the vehicle was not immediately known.
