Today the Halifax County Health Department added three new positive cases of COVID-19 to its data, bringing the total number of positives since March of last year to 5,579.

There have been 111 related deaths.

The health department also reported today it will offer first dose Pfizer vaccines to anyone 12 and up by online registration.

The Pfizer vaccine will be administered in the 700 building of Halifax Community College from noon to 7 p.m. Use the main entrance to get to the building.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

Appointments are preferred however, walk-ups are accepted.

The health department is also offering the Moderna vaccine every Thursday at its office located at 19 North Dobbs Street in Halifax.

The time is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
