The Halifax County Health Department today added an additional death related to COVID-19.

The latest death related to the virus brings the total to 112.

The health department also added 11 new positive cases, which brings the total number of positives since March of last year to 5,590.

The health department will offer first dose Pfizer vaccines to anyone 12 and up by online registration.

The Pfizer vaccine will be administered in the 700 building of Halifax Community College from noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Use the main entrance to get to the building.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

Appointments are preferred however, walk-ups are accepted.

The health department is also offering the Moderna vaccine every Thursday at its office located at 19 North Dobbs Street in Halifax.

The time is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Northampton County the health department reported today there have been 1,849 total positive cases of which 1,67 have recovered.

There are 13 active cases. There have been 69 related deaths.
