Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Scott Hall reported that on Thursday around 12:30 p.m. Deputy Dan Bybee stopped a vehicle for a window tint violation at Roanoke Avenue and Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
While conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle, the deputy located a loaded Taurus .38 Special and a digital scale with white residue under the driver’s seat. A bindle of fentanyl was located in the center console.

Trevonta Whitaker, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He received a $10,000 secured bond and August 8 court date.
