A Roanoke Rapids man wanted by Weldon police for a Tuesday night stabbing surrendered to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Christopher Davis confirmed.

Davis said Rondell Lamont Neville surrendered to the sheriff’s office Wednesday afternoon.

He received a $5,000 secured bond and has an August 4 court date.

The stabbing occurred shortly before midnight Tuesday in the 200 block of East Sixth Street when Neville and the victim, who is expected to recover, got into an argument.

The victim was located in the front yard with a stab wound to the chest and was transported to Vidant North by Halifax County EMS. 

Neville faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
