An Enfield man is wanted for a June 30 shooting which took place at Carriage House Lane.
Enfield police Chief Chuck Hasty said Cornelious Devonta “Chicken Leg” Wills Jr. is wanted on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, going armed to the terror of the people, discharging a firearm in the town limits, and injury to property.
He is known to frequent the Enfield and Rocky Mount areas and was last seen on a 2008 silver/gray Infiniti M35 with North Carolina tags TAD-4717.
Hasty said the charges stem from a crime that took place on June 30 at approximately 1 p.m.
The police department received a call about shots being fired around Carriage House Lane. When officers arrived they found several shell casings and a vehicle that had been struck.
Captain C. Glover obtained warrants on Wills, 28.
Motive remains under investigation, Hasty said.
Wills is encouraged to surrender to law enforcement.
