Two people visiting a residence on Jewel Street targeted by law enforcement for drug sales were arrested today.
Captain A.M. Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the person who was the main target of a search warrant executed by the sheriff’s office and Roanoke Rapids Police Department was not at the residence at the time law enforcement arrived around 2 p.m.

Michael Mager, 34, of Hamilton Street, in Roanoke Rapids was in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, while Samantha Johnson, 33, of Hinson Street, was in possession of marijuana, Harris said.
Agent J.H. Bozard of the sheriff’s office arrested and charged Mager with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and served an outstanding order for arrest issued July 2 for larceny of property, possess stolen goods and first-degree trespassing.
Both have August 28 court dates. Mager received a $5,000 bond and Johnson a $2,000 bond.
Harris said both agencies have executed several search warrants at the Jewel Street residence in the past.
During the search, marijuana, methamphetamine and several items of drug paraphernalia were seized.
Harris said investigation of the residence will continue.
