The Halifax County Schools Board of Education Monday voted 7-0 to continue twice-weekly COVID-19 testing for faculty, staff and employees who are not vaccinated.

The board of education “strongly encouraged” students to have routine weekly testing with One Love Labs “to keep our school community safe,” the school system said in a statement.

Students under the age of 18 will  be required  to have parental consent for weekly COVID-19 surveillance testing prior to participating in the system’s COVID Safe Schools Program.

Superintendent Eric L. Cunningham and administration will work with state and federally supported vaccine teams to schedule vaccine clinics at Halifax County Schools for faculty, staff, and students.
