The last two men wanted in a May 13 shooting death on Monroe Street are in custody, the Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported this morning.

The men, Shelvy Travon Edwards, 25, and Denzel Ashe, 21, both of Roanoke Rapids were admitted to the Halifax County Detention Center late Thursday night, according to online jail records. They were jailed without the opportunity for bond and have September 23 district court appearances scheduled.

On Thursday Chief Bobby Martin said three people were in custody in the shooting death of Frederick Lee.

The five face charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The others charged in the case are Anthony Ty'Quan Shearin, 20; Shantron Avondre Person, 20; and Stepheon Jaqwan Ashe, 22. They are from the Roanoke Rapids area and are in custody without the opportunity for bond.

Police said at the time officers and EMS responding to the 300 block of Monroe Street discovered Lee inside the residence and that it appeared he had been shot in the upper body and did not survive.
