Enfield police are investigating a strong-arm robbery which occurred Wednesday night.

According to the report, a female victim was robbed of her pocketbook and pushed out of the vehicle.

In a statement Chief Chuck Hasty said around 8:30 officers responded to the intersection of East Franklin Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue about a person lying in the street.

The officers located the victim, who Hasty said refused transport to a hospital, and learned the person had been robbed and assaulted.

Before the robbery and assault, the victim had been dropped off after getting into a disagreement with other people in the vehicle in which she was riding.

The victim then caught a ride with a person described as a Black male driving a dark-colored four-door vehicle.

During the ride the driver took the victim’s purse which contained cash and a financial card. He pushed the victim, who was treated for injuries by EMS, out of the vehicle.

The man was last seen driving north on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
