The Center for Energy Education has been selected as a finalist in the Diversity in Cleantech category of the 2021 Cleantech Innovation Awards hosted by the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster.

Nominations are judged by a panel of cleantech experts and winners will be announced at the Cleantech Innovation Awards.

The Cleantech Innovation Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 8 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Market Hall in Raleigh.

The Cleantech Innovative Awards recognize the people, organizations, and initiatives driving cleantech innovation, creative deployment solutions, and workforce development in the Research Triangle region and throughout North Carolina.

The Diversity in Cleantech category recognizes an organization or initiative that has made significant contributions to ensuring the cleantech workforce reflects the people it serves.

The Center for Energy Education was selected as a nominee in this category alongside Women+ in Climate Tech and EPA-RTP's Community Engagement & STEM.

“I am extremely pleased to know that C4EE is not only being recognized for our work in diversity, but also our programs that reflect the communities we serve,” said Mozine Lowe, executive director of the center.

Governor Roy Cooper will also be recognized at the 2021 Cleantech Innovation Awards as the North Carolina Cleantech Champion.

The governor was nominated and selected by a committee of leaders and executives from the cleantech industry and public sectors for the award based on his demonstrated commitments to protecting natural resources.

His nomination outlined his administration’s extensive investments in driving a clean energy economy in North Carolina.
