A Pleasant Hill man died this morning following a collision with a tractor-trailer on Highway 186 in the Garysburg area, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Sergeant A.S. Genao, citing an initial report by Trooper W.H. Wheeler, said the crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m.

Stanley Scott, 34, was driving a 2018 Toyota east on Highway 186 when he went left of the centerline.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, who was headed west on the highway, took evasive action by traveling partially off the roadway.

Scott collided with the tractor-trailer, a 1999 Kenworth, and traveled left of center after striking the rig.

Scott was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Genao said Scott was restrained and impaired driving is not suspected.
