A Roanoke Rapids couple face numerous counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of minors following an investigation that began last year.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Bobby Martin said investigation by Captain Jamie Hardy resulted in 83 counts of the charge being lodged against Eddie Martin, 48, and Ian Bundy, 30.

Hardy said the counts represent 83 different pornography videos involving small children which were downloaded.

Hardy said the relationship between Martin and Bundy is that they are married. He said investigation into the case continues and some of the information will be passed on to a larger agency.

Hardy said the police department received a report last year which Chief Martin said came from the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Chief Martin said on Tuesday around 9:30 a.m. officers executed a search warrant at the couple’s home on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway. During the search of the residence “there was a copious amount of evidence related to the sexual exploitation of minors.”

The chief said, “After reviewing the information and investigating the information provided, a search warrant was prepared and executed. The collaborative efforts of multiple agencies make these types of investigations successful to keep our children safe.”

Chief Martin said the men received $100,000 bonds and March 24 court dates. As of this report they are both still incarcerated at the Halifax County Detention Center.

If anyone has any information regarding the exploitation of a minor they are encouraged to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at www.cybertipline.com or call 1-800-843-5678.
