A Friday night stop in the Scotland Neck area resulted in the arrests of a pair Weldon residents and the seizure of marijuana, crack and a concealed handgun.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Lieutenant Steven Casey stopped a vehicle around 8:30on Main Street after observing it had no rear lights.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a backpack containing 348 grams of marijuana, digital scales, 7 grams of crack and the handgun.

The passenger, Keyanna Davis, 32, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and felony possession of marijuana.
The driver, Corey Jones, 37, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle with a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
They received $5,000 bonds and April 20 court dates.
