Armed robbery
On Saturday shortly before 10:30 p.m. officers responded to Subway on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway after receiving an armed robbery call.
Officers learned a person described as a Black male entered the store under the pretense of using the restroom. However, the person pointed a gun at one of the employees and demanded the registers be opened.
The man, who had a close haircut, wore a green sweater and stood around 6-feet tall, made the employees and a customer who had entered lie down. He told them to wait before they called the police or he would shoot them. The suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of money.
A canine track was conducted but the suspect was not located.
The police department continues to investigate this robbery and one on July 22 in which a suspect was identified and is wanted in the heist of a gaming center.
Anyone with information on the shooting or robberies is encouraged to contact Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444 or the police department at 252-533-2810.
