The North Carolina State Highway Patrol continues to investigate a Monday evening fatal hit and run and has its reconstruction team assisting in the probe.

Trooper J.T. Keeter said the death of Timothy Scott Frazier, 36, of the Littleton area, occurred on Highway 158 about a mile outside the Littleton town limits near Bacon Road.

The estimated time of the fatal collision is between 7:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. The highway patrol received a call around 10:30 p.m. after a passerby saw a person later identified as Frazier laying on the side of the road.

It is believed someone traveling east on Highway 158 hit him. Thus far there have been no vehicle descriptions.

Keeter said it is believed Frazier was walking back to Roanoke Rapids when he was struck.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the highway patrol at 252-200-3490 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
