The lighting of the Lights of Love Tree at ECU North Hospital will be held December 1 at 6 p.m. The event will begin with celebratory remarks and a choral performance.

The Lights of Love Tree is a new tradition at ECU North where people can buy lights in honor of loved ones and friends.

“The lights on the tree represent gifts of hope and love and an act of remembrance or a special way to express your appreciation,” ECU North said. “This is your opportunity to give a gift as a tribute to a loved one, friend or colleague who has had an impact on your life or the lives of others in our community.”

Those who donate can give a gift in honor or memory of someone.

The donations will benefit the ECU North Hope Fund, which supports the facility’s greatest needs.

Donations will fund items such as, but not limited to, the following:

Treatment room enhancements in the cardiology and emergency departments

Specialized equipment for women’s and pediatric care

Advanced diagnostic technology to improve treatment and positive outcomes

Physical improvements to the second, third and fifth floors of the hospital
