A Garysburg man was sentenced to 10 years in prison earlier this month after pleading to four counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Captain Patrick Jacobs of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said 38-year-old Tyrone Hawkins agreed to the plea arrangement during a recent term of Northampton County Superior Court.

Jacobs had initiated an investigation on August 20, 2020 and determined that Hawkins had sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl.
