The Halifax Resolves Chapter of the North Carolina Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution announced the winners of its poster and brochure contests.

Americanism Poster contest

Hannah Grace Allen, a fifth-grader at Manning Elementary, was the poster winner.

Allen’s poster presentation was on Christopher Ludwick of Pennsylvania.  

She received a chapter-level winner’s certificate and a check for $100.  

Her teacher, Lauren Medlin, received a check for $50 and a certificate of appreciation.   

Her poster will now advance to the state level contest to be held at Alamance Battleground on May 20 during the Patriot’s Day ceremony.

Americanism Brochure contest

Linley Godsey, an eighth-grader at Chaloner Middle School, won the brochure contest by defending the Declaration of Independence.

She received a chapter-level winner’s certificate and a check for $100. Her teacher James Rook received a $50 check and certificate of appreciation.

Godsey’s brochure will advance to the same competition as Allen’s.
