Roanoke Valley law enforcement reported the following:

Weldon Police Department

Chief Christopher Davis reported on Wednesday around 3 p.m. Officer I. Smith assisted Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Deputy J. Snider with a traffic stop which was initiated due to a hit from the Flock Safety camera system about a stolen vehicle in the area of Highway 158 near Interstate 95.

The vehicle was stopped in the 1600 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.

Drug paraphernalia was present inside the vehicle.

Smith arrested Andrea Michelle Burchette, 38, of Lincolnton for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office charged Casey Lee Little with felony possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also placed on hold from Northampton County.

He received a $10,000 bond for the vehicle and drug charge and a $2,500 bond for the Northampton hold. He has an April 27 court date in Halifax County District Court and a May 2 court date in Northampton County.

Burchette received a $500 secured bond and May 24 court date.

Monday shortly after 3:30 p.m. Lieutenant L. Melton responded to the 500 block of Washington Avenue about an active breaking and entering.

Melton determined that the suspects — all juveniles — were still inside the residence.

Melton received assistance from Roanoke Rapids police and the sheriff’s office.

The juveniles were detained and their parents and Halifax County Juvenile Services were contacted.

Juvenile petitions will be taken out.

On April 6 around 6 p.m., Corporal S. McKimmey responded to a residence in the 900 block of Willow Drive about a disturbance.

The victim said Candace Unique Dunn, 31, was still at the scene. Davis said the victim reported Dunn attempted to hit him with a vehicle and then assaulted the victim while the officer was present.

Dunn, of Weldon, was charged with simple assault and received a $1,000 unsecured bond. She has a June 7 court date.
