Halifax County is one of 10 counties included in the Greater Rocky Mount, Greenville & Wilson Area Regional Transit Plan underway by the NC Department of Transportation Integrated Mobility Division. 

The objective of the plan is to assess and prioritize public transportation needs in a consistent and coordinated manner for the diverse population included in a 10-county area consisting of Beaufort, Bertie, Edgecombe, Halifax, Hertford, Martin, Nash, Northampton, Pitt, and Wilson counties.

NCDOT is scheduling additional in-person events to be announced to gather input and has also developed a virtual information presentation where individuals, along with community and business leaders, can learn about the concept and fill out a survey on transportation needs.

A Virtual Public Workshop is scheduled for June 27 from 2:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
