A search warrant execution Tuesday afternoon at the Fairfax Motel yielded methamphetamine, powdered cocaine and crack as well the arrest of a Roanoke Rapids man.

Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said narcotics agents with assistance by patrol deputies executed the warrant around 3 p.m. and were targeting Rodney Alexander Williams, 47, who was present at the motel on Tenth Street in Roanoke Rapids.

The investigation was initiated by Agent B. Murphy after numerous complaints via Crimestoppers on Williams were registered.

With assistance from Raven, a canine with the sheriff’s office, 11.5 grams of meth in separate bags, 1.5 grams of cocaine and 4 grams of crack were seized. Agents also recovered a loaded handgun which was reported stolen from a county resident.

Williams was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of schedule II controlled substance, maintain a dwelling to store a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

As of this report, and according to online records at the Halifax County Detention Center, Williams remained jailed on $60,000 bond.

He has a July 14 court date.
