More than 100 people attended the recent Release the Fear revival held in Enfield — an event of community healing over fear and divisiveness within the town and the county.

The League of Churches joined forces with local pastors and their ministries to hold the event at Enfield Town Square.

“Revival is what unites a community,” said Lily Lowe, chair of the League of Churches. “We need healing, we need a sense of harmony, we need each other, and I am thrilled that these prominent pastors from all walks didn’t hesitate to lend their support to help in this endeavor to unite our community by coming together under one accord to share their messages.”

Larry Perkins, chair of the Enfield Alliance Coalition, said, “During COVID, many never got an opportunity to heal, many are still facing the fear of uncertainty, the fear of losing a loved one, the fear of despair.

“We must stand with our community. Together we can make a difference and show the community and the world that we are stronger together. Moreover, it is our duty to be a role model for our youth — they only know what they see. Let’s illuminate their spirit with a new vision.”

The event was also intended to develop a partnership of clergy and laymen to engage with the citizens and businesses of Enfield in an effort to support them as well as businesses in the county.

The Enfield Alliance Coalition serves as the umbrella organization for the Enfield Economic Development & Revitalization Commission, the Collective Society, the Downtown Enfield Restoration & Preservation, A Better Chance A Better Community, the Community of Hope Center, Enfield Performing Arts Center, Enfield Civic Club and the League of Churches.

Lowe, who organized the League of Churches event with Susan Britt Macon, who served as the co-chair, said, “The League of Churches gives all the honor and glory to God for allowing us to be a blessing to the town of Enfield and its surrounding area. We truly take this time to thank all who attended, and we truly believe that the best is yet to come.”

Said Perkins: “Together we can make a difference and show the community and the world that we are stronger together.”
