The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following drug arrests, according to Captain Scott Hall:

On Thursday narcotics agents executed a search at 602 Robertson’s Boat Landing Road in Roanoke Rapids.

The agents located Connie Parker Jr., who was the target of the search warrant, as well as 20-year-old Shadeed Moore of Roanoke Rapids.

A search of the house yielded marijuana, scales, $585, and 10 grams of cocaine.

Moore was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and was released.

Parker was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.

Parker received a $15,000 bond.

Highway 48

On Wednesday around 11:45 p.m. Deputy C. Roberts stopped a vehicle on Highway 48 near Fishing Creek Road in Enfield for a lighting violation. 

When Roberts approached the vehicle, he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside. 

A search of the vehicle was conducted and the driver, Vernard Anthony Gibson, of Hollister was found in possession of MDMA and also had an outstanding order for arrest out of Wilson County.

Gibson, 42, was charged with possession of a schedule I narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked and driving without two headlamps. 

Gibson was also served with the outstanding order for arrest. 

He received a $4,000 secured bond and July 27 court date.

East Tenth Street

On Sunday around 6 p.m. Deputy G. Martin observed a seat belt violation in the area of East Tenth Street and Virginia Avenue in Roanoke Rapids. 

Martin initiated a traffic stop and encountered the driver, Brian Herring. 

Martin deployed his dog Loki for an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The dog alerted to the potential of narcotics in the vehicle. A gram of heroin was located.

Herring, 43, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II narcotic, driving while license revoked and failure to wear a seat belt. 

He received a $5,000 bond and July 27 court date.
