Dan Brown has resigned after 25 years as the CEO of the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District, the board said in a statement.

His resignation came during last week’s board meeting. “This separation marks the end of a significant chapter in our organization's history,” board Chair James Kerr said. “Dan Brown joined the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District a quarter-century ago and has many contributions during his tenure. As he departs from his current position as CEO, we thank him for his service. We appreciate Dan Brown’s  contributions over the years. We wish him the best In his future endeavors."

Thomas Wrenn, the RRSD’s CFO, has been named interim CEO. He will continue his CFO duties in the interim.
