A Roanoke Rapids man was charged Saturday for injury to personal property and other counts after he fired a weapon and struck a vehicle.
Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a business on Highway 903 outside Halifax after a report was received a man later identified as Korey Ramon Grant Jr., 33, was on the premises with a firearm.
Corporal G. Martin and his dog Loki located Grant at a nearby residence.
Deputy K. Tillery arrested and charged Grant with going armed to the terror of the public, injury to personal property, possessing a firearm by a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of a schedule VI.
Due to pending charges, Grant remains in the Halifax County Detention Center without the opportunity for bond and has a Tuesday district court date.
