A man who had been wanted by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office for several months was located and taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in the area of Arcola and White Rock Church roads.
Halifax County Sheriff Tyree Davis said multiple family members aided in hiding 51-year-old Lockie Daniel “Boo Boo” Richardson of Hollister.
He was taken into custody around 2:45 p.m.
Richardson was served with outstanding warrants for injury to personal property, communicating threats and three counts each of break and or entering and larceny after break/entering.
Richardson was given a December 11 district court date and he also has a December 16 district court date for both misdemeanor and felony B&Es.
For the local crimes he received a $32,000 secured bond. He was also served with a probation violation by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Probation/Parole for which he was jailed without the opportunity for bond.
Detective Sergeant B.R. Edmondson investigated the breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and injury to property cases which occurred in the Arcola Road area.
“Lockie Richardson has been on the run for several months. Every division at the sheriff’s office and the Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force shared information and dedicated several hours day and night attempting to locate Richardson,” Davis said. “We also received assistance from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit and the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Canine Unit.”
Said Davis: “We appreciate the community involvement with submitting tips to assist getting Richardson off the street. There were multiple family members that were assisting ‘Boo-Boo’ and hiding him out but today he was caught by deputies.”
