Clifton “Rooster” Ray Clark, 53 of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.
He was born in Halifax County in 1968 to the late John Joseph Clark and Elma Conner Clark and was preceded in death by his nephew, Christopher Lee Conner.
Clifton was a cancer survivor, and worked as a roofer for Hester Roofing for many years.

He is survived by his brother “Fuzzy” Kenneth Conner and his wife, Sherry of Roanoke Rapids; his sisters, Barbara Clark of Roanoke Rapids, Cynthia “Cindy” Clark Casey of Roanoke Rapids, and Cathy Clark Livesay and her husband, Steve of Roanoke Rapids; his nephew, Steven Ray Conner; niece Melissa Conner Killette; nephews, Thomas Byrum Jr., Joseph Byrum, and Roger Byrum; nieces Jennifer Clark Dixon and Christina Casey; nephew, Michael Casey and seven great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
Graveside Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Christian Church with Pastor Russ Collins officiating.
