Mary Harris Thompson, 66, of Florence, SC, died peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018, with her family by her side.

A native of Roanoke Rapids, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Russell and Willie Pierce Harris. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Tonnie B. Thompson, Sr.; her grandson, Dustin Wayne Floyd, and her sister, Shelia H. Gibson.

Mary was a loving Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, and Sister. She loved traveling with her husband and working construction with him also. Mary loved to play Bingo and loved Facebook so she could keep up with everyone.  Most of all, Mary loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Jeffery L. Vent, Jr. of Florence, SC; her two daughters, Kimberly H. Floyd and (Tony) of Gaston, NC, Erica D. Saunders of Williamsburg, VA; her brother, Russell W. Harris of Gaston, NC; her sister, Rita H. McCollum of Gaston, NC; her brother-in-law, Kenny Gibson; Grandchildren, Daniel H. Floyd, Brittiany N. Floyd both of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Sierra Vent and Kaitlyn Vent both of Florence SC; her Great-grandchildren, Kenzleigh Floyd and Owen Floyd, Kinleigh Elaine Jenkins and Paisley Floyd; four nieces and two nephews; her several cousins and her Uncle, Alfred Harris and his wife, Joyce, of Hopewell, VA.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services of Roanoke Rapids, NC on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Tony Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Funeral home.
