Roy David Cobb, Sr. 89 of Halifax, passed away on February 28, 2022.
He was born on July 13, 1932 to the late Robert & Violet Cobb.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Opal Keeter, Lela Baggett, Lucille Robinson, and Ann Ross.
He is survived by his brother Ty Cobb (Shirley) of Jacksonville, FL. His loving wife of 72 years and 9 months, Frances Flowers Cobb, daughters Elaine Hancock of Raleigh, Beverly Kirkman of Halifax, Susan Kearns (Eddie) of Lexington, NC, David Cobb (Debbie) of Princeton, NC. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Megan Walker (Charles), Michelle Woodel (Brad), Andrew Cobb (Lauren), Leanne Kearns May, Nicholas Cobb (Uyen), April Kearns (Kendall) and his great-grandchildren Kyle & Hunter Walker, Gage & Aubrey Woodel, Jack & Jake May, along with many loving and much-loved nieces and nephews.
Roy was the proud owner of Halifax Furniture Company for 60 plus years. He was also a Mason for 67 years and was a Member of the Royal White Hart Lodge #2 in Halifax. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Scottish Rite.
Family will have a graveside visitation on Thursday March 3, 2022 from 10:00-11:00am at the Halifax United Methodist Church Cemetery. This will be followed by service at 11:00.
