Drusella "Dru" Hutchinson Barlowe, 88, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
She was born on November 3, 1933 in Halifax County to the late, Garlton Vaughan and Mary Virginia Wood Ferguson and was preceded in death by her husbands William Earl "Spot" Hutchinson and Leroy Barlowe; her sister Ann Kern and her brother-in-law, Dick Kern; and her aunts, Frankie and Eula Wood.
"Dru" served her Lord faithfully and was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she played the organ, the piano and served faithfully as the choir director for 27 years.

She retired from Weldon City Schools where she worked in the Superintendent's Office. After her retirement, "Dru" then went to work for the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District for many years.
She is survived by her nephews, Tommy Daughtry and his wife, Leesa of Roanoke Rapids, Greg Daughtry of Raleigh; her great nieces, Laura D. Duncan and her husband, Matt of Roanoke Rapids, Caroline Daughtry of Roanoke Rapids; her great-great niece, Langston Duncan and her great-great nephew, Mattox Duncan and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2pm at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends from 12pm until service time at the church on Friday.
