Emily “Poochie” Camp Bryant, 85, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at ECU North Hospital on Sunday March 1, 2026.
Emily was born on July 20, 1940, in Northampton County. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Peter” Bryant, her parents William Henry Camp and Emma Patterson, her stepfather, Ernest Patterson Sr., and brother Eugene Patterson.
She is survived by her daughter Shelia Hollowell, grandchildren Christie Story, Tanya Hollowell, great grandchildren Kaylee Story, Tucker Wayne Kellum, brother Ernest “Jr” Patterson, and sisters Edna Earle Raper, Libby Ann Daniell, Snookie Barnes.

Poochie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
She worked at Leggett’s and Belk where she enjoyed taking care of her customers, her customers also loved her, they would send her birthday cards, Christmas cards and prayer cards.
She loved watching comedies and listening to 1950s music. Poochie was very stylish with her clothes, jewelry and shoes. She loved everyone and would pray for anyone that requested it.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
