Margaret Meadows Vaughan, 69, of Roanoke Rapids died December 30, 2021 at Vidant North Medical Center. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cindy Barrett.

Margaret was born on June 2, 1952 in Halifax County, NC to Claude Eston Meadows and Frances Walker Meadows. 

She enjoyed taking care of children and her house was home to many. She was also a skilled seamstress and an excellent cook.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, “Bernie” Ray Vaughan; daughters Hope Vaughan, April Vaughan Palacios (Joe), and Nina Vaughan Gonzalez (Jerry); brothers Lee Meadows (Tina) and Gary Meadows (Donna); sisters-in-law Dell Mahan (Peanut), Sandy Vaughan, and Brenda Vaughan; grandchildren Zachary Mozingo and Alex Petrez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Margaret will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, with Rev. Rex Evans presiding. Burial will follow the service in Cedarwood Cemetery.  The Vaughan family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
